FSRA finale at Cadwell this weekend

FOR the third and final time this year, the ACU/FSRA British F2 Sidecar Championship heads to Cadwell for a star-studded season finale.

After sharing wins with Lee Crawford and Scott Hardie during the penultimate round at Mallory Park last weekend, two-time champions Peter Founds and Jevan Walmsley head to the Lincolnshire Wolds with an insurmountable 80 points to spare over Steve and Matty Ramsden.

A clean sweep won’t be as easy for Founds and Walmsley this weekend as they look to take the fight to current/multiple British and former World champ Tim Reeves and passenger Mark Wilkes…

But the title is still up in the air for the racers of the F2 Cup class as Manxmen Mike Jackson and Callum Crowe lead Brian Ilaria and Jody James by 36 points, with Ralph Remnant and Samantha Tilley theoretically still in the running 48 points off the lead.

Both Jackson/Crowe and Ilaria/James suffered engine troubles at Mallory Park, meaning their race is on to be ready for a title fight this Saturday and Sunday.

Joining the party this weekend after securing the F1 British Sidecar Championship at the same track just last month will be multiple British and World Champion Tim Reeves and recent World Championship podium passenger Mark Wilkes, who bagged a rostrum last weekend in Croatia alongside John Holden.

Simon Neary and Paul Knapton currently hold the circuit lap record of 1:37.32 from seven years ago, but lap times were within 0.4 seconds of the record at the championship’s last visit to Cadwell.
