F2 Sidecars to feature at Phillip Island Classic

SIDECARS grids are set to receive a boost at the International Island Classic as event chiefs have revealed they are welcoming modern F2 entries.

When the annual meeting kicks off at the Phillip Island Circuit in January, newer F2 outfits will be eligible to complete alongside Period 1-5 and Historic sidecars.

But organisers have cautioned that they require at least 20 entries for the class to run, and that preference will be given to historic machines over their modern cousins.

If the minimum number of combined machines is not achieved, the class will be cancelled and entry fees will be refunded.

The 25th Anniversary meeting of the International Island Classic runs from 26 to 28 January, 2018, and tickets are now on sale.
