UPDATED: Club training dates postponed as Storm Emma looms

In Bemsee, Darley Moor, News

STORM Emma and the Beast from the East have done more than just deplete Tesco’s bread supply – they’ve now forced clubs to postpone upcoming training days.

And with just over a week remaining until Bemsee and EMRA kick off the 2018 racing season at Brands Hatch and Mallory Park, respectively, wintry conditions want to move on swiftly.

Thundersport GB head honcho Dave Stewart and Cadwell Park officials took the decision to hold off with their originally-scheduled March 4 (Sunday) license course. Stewart urges riders to hold tight as they search for a backup date, and says emails will be sent in the coming hours.

No Limits Racing has just revealed alternatives for this weekend’s ACU licencing course after Brands Hatch axed Saturday’s action ahead of the freeze. As a substitute, prospective racers can switch over to the course on March 9 at Mallory Park or the one on April 19 at Cadwell Park.

To make the change, the club is asking that riders please contact Toni Downie at NLR as soon as possible.

NG Road Racing officials announced today that red weather warnings from the MET Office for South Wales drove their decision to cancel the Test and Training dates at Pembrey for this weekend, March 3 and 4.

While club bosses search for alternative options before their season begins in just over a fortnight, they say that anyone originally booked onto this weekend’s track training will be contacted in the next day.

The news comes just 24 hours after Darley Moor chiefs revealed they would suspend all circuit activities for the following seven days, with the CTC/BRA training date, due to take place March 2, now pushed back to March 7.

A statement is due to be issued by the Leicestershire circuit on Monday, March 5, as to conditions.
